DENNY UNDER 17 LEAGUE Castleisla­nd 2 Killarney Celtic 5

KILLARNEY Celtic are setting the pace at the top of the table but they had to work hard to get past a spirited Castleisla­nd side.

Celtic raced into a 2-0 lead with goals from Craig Boyle O’Sullivan and Terry Sparling. However Castleisla­nd fought back admirably and goals from Sean O’Sullivan and TJ Broderick made it 2-2 after 25 minutes.

Celtic took the lead again before half-time with an Emmet Cronin goal. They moved up a gear in the second half and two stunning goals completed a hat trick for Terry Sparling and gave the Killarney side a 5-2 victory.

Killarney Athletic 2 Tralee Dynamos 1

THIS was a tightly contested game with Killarney Athletic claiming the three points with a goal of a controvers­ial nature.

Dynamos went ahead with a Nick Izehi goal but Athletic fought back and goals from Damian Switzer and William Shine secured the win. The winning goal was hotly disputed by Dynamos who claimed the ball had not crossed the goal line but the referee thought otherwise and the goal stood.

Ballyheigu­e Athletic 2 Atletico Ardfert 1

BALLYHEIGU­E Athletic collected the three points after a good win over neighbours Athletico Ardfert. Conor O’Sullivan scored both goals for the seasiders.

Listowel Celtic 0 Fenit Samphires 6

FENIT Samphires hit Listowel Celtic with six of the best and cruised to an easy victory. Darragh Heim (2), Eoin Diggins, Eddie Stack, Liam Tobin and Cormac Lynch scored for the seasiders.
