Div 1 U15 Killarney Celtic 1 Mastergeeha 2
In this close game the boys had to battle hard for the points. After going a goal down the boys got the equaliser with 10 minutes remaining when Darra O Callaghan scored. After this Mastergeeha pushed forwards and got the winner when Mark O Shea converted from a penalty. Avenue FC 3 Mastergeeha 2 The lads travelled to Ennis on Sat morn and played their part in a cracking cup tie.
They shocked the Clare side on 2mins when Darragh O’ Riordan fired home from the edge of the box after Ian O’Connor’s shot had been cleared off the line. They defended stoutly for the remainder of the half with GK Joe Colgan making some super saves until the home side levelled just before the break when a long ball into the box evaded all and found the net.
The lads came out firing in the 2nd half and Ian O’Connor restored the lead when he fired low into the corner following a Philip O’Leary corner. Unfortunately they couldn’t hold on and the home side levelled within 15mins and then struck the winner late on. A great effort by all involved with Ian O’Connor and GK Joe Colgan outstanding.
