DEATH

Retired District Nurse Catherine Moran of Main Street Waterville and Knockaderr­y Newcastle west Co. Limerick died peacefully at home on Friday October 12th. Her remains were removed from Reidy’s Funeral Home to Knockaderr­y Church on Sunday for 1 p.m. Mass. Members of Waterville Golf Club formed a Guard of Honour at the Church. She was laid to rest in Castlemaho­n Cemetery. Sincere sympathy to Catherine’s relative’s neighbours and many friends. Solas na bhflathas da hanam dilis.

COMMUITY GAMES EGM

Thursday the 25th Of October @ 8pm in Waterville Community Centre. We are asking that all parents who have children who wish to be involved in the community games to please attend. We are seeking some new members to our committee & some volunteers in the different areas ie Dromid/ Caherdanie­l that can support us in the wide range of events that we run. Without this help, we will have no option but to disband, -the community games CANNOT function unless we get a minimum of 5 members to our committee as stated under the rules of the National Community Games.

WWI MEMORIAL SERVICE

On Sunday November 11th, the 100th anniversar­y of Armistice Day that ended World War One, a memorial service will be held for the fifty or so killed, and those that served in that conflict from this region. The special ecumenical service will be held in St. Michael and All Angels Church in Waterville at 10.30am. A special memorial Plaque to those killed will be unveiled following memorial service. All are welcome

TRIBUTE TO MICK O’DWYER

INEC, Killarney, Friday 26th October @ 8pm. To help raise funds for the new developmen­t of the sports field, RTE’s Darragh Maloney will present a live show with special guests, dinner and music to celebrate Waterville Football and a tribute to the one and only Micko.
