MUNSTER CLUB FOOTBALL QUARTER FINAL IN ARDFINNAN

Dr Crokes 3-15 Moyle-Rovers 0-8 Our opponents started well with two points from play but we quickly equalised with two from frees. Our opponents were finding it hard to stop our quick movements throughout the field. Moyle Rovers were dealt a body blow in the 12th minute when we intercepted their kick out and went through for a goal, finished by Kieran O’Leary. Two points from Micheal Burns and another from Daithi Casey put us 1-5 to 0-3 ahead. Two important decisions in the last ten minutes of this first half went well towards ending the game as a contest. One of the Moyle Rovers was black carded in the 21st minute and just before the interval Kieran O’Leary sent another ball to the net to give us a half time lead of 2-8 to 0-5. Our opponents started the second half well but failed to trouble the score board and when one of their players was red carded in the 40th minute it left them with a mountain to climb. Moyle Rovers did notch some good points in the last twenty minutes but we outscored them in this second half on a score of 1-7 to 0-3. Our display was good in parts and one we will want to improve on when we take St Finbars next Sunday. Our opponents suffered because of the loss of two players through a black card and a red card. We played very much as a team throughout the sixty minutes and got great leadership from Johnny Buckley, Gavin White and Kieran O’Leary.
