Tickets available from usual outlets and club members FR. GALVIN CUP S/F: Scartaglen 1-04 Fossa 4-16: Played in Cordal GAA this fixture was always going to be difficult for the Scartaglen Side. Fossa without the services of David Clifford still posed a formidable treat. They were first off, the mark with Tadgh O’Shea inside the first minute. The sides were level soon after when Shay Walsh’s free dropped short and midfielder Tom Forde was on hand to punch it over the bar. Both sides were guilty of missed chances early on before Maudie Clifford pointed from play in the 10th minute. Shay Walsh soon had the sides level again from a free before Fossa began to get a grip on the game and stamped their authority on it.

Goals from Tadgh O’Shea and Paudie Clifford began to put daylight between the sides. Credit to Scartaglen they worked tirelessly in the first half and were awarded for their efforts with a goal from Kieran Herlihy following good work by Shay Walsh and Pa Rahilly. Fossa went into the break seven points to the good. Following changes at halftime Scartaglen started the second half brightly Shay Walsh pointing from a free inside the first minute. This was to be as good as it got for the Sliabh Luachra side as Fossa completely dominated the second half. While Scartaglen tried throughout the second half their efforts were not to be rewarded on the scoreboard.

Two quick goals from Fossa’s Paudie Clifford and Donmhaill O’Sullivan vanished any hope of Scartaglen mounting a come back with points from Mathew Rennie, Tadgh O’Shea and Paudie Clifford all contributing to a win for the Killarney side. Scartaglen’s end to the season has not being helped with injuries to a lot of players and over 8 weeks without a competitive game. They will hope to finish the season on a high when they take part in the Bill Tagney Cup Final. Date and Time TBC Scartaglen Scorers: Shay Walsh (0-3f), Kieran Herlihy (1-0), Tom Forde (0-1)
