DUBLIN CITY MARATHON

The 39th annual Dublin City Marathon took place on Sunday 28th October. Conditions this year were cool and dry which were ideal for marathon running. We had a record number of 17 members taking part this year, ranging from some seasoned campaigners to a number of first time participants. Some great results were achieved on the day with numerous PBs. First club member home was Niamh Clifford in a time of 3.04.47 followed by Declan Murphy in 3.06.06. Well done also to Louise Riordan, John Kelliher, Thomas Bubendorfer, Susanne Foley, Sean Murphy, Stephen Griffin, Anna Foley, Patricia Corbett, Tracy Murphy, Mary Carey, Margaret Foley, Siobhan Falvey, Norma McHugh, Siobhan o’ Sullivan & Annette Corboy.

NEW YORK MARATHON

Congratulations to John McGillycuddy who completed the New York marathon last Sunday.

HARDMAN GAP OF DUNLOE HALF MARATHON

This definitely has to be one of the most scenic races in the running calendar. Last Sunday over 100 runners took on this beautiful but challenging course. This year Derek Griffin of Tralee Harriers took the honours in a time of 1.17.55 and in doing so set a new course record. Well done to Stephen Griffin and Vivian Juffs who took part. Congratulations to Vivian who was first female O45.
