- By SIMON BROUDER

CHRISTMAS might still be six weeks away but the festive season begins in earnest in Tralee this weekend with the opening of the phenomenally popular Grotto at CH Chemist.

The Grotto is one of the most popular Christmas attractions in Kerry drawing families from all over the county to Tralee every year.

CH Chemists will host its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday November 24 with a whole host of familiar characters joining Santa and Mrs Claus as they parade through the town.

After the parade Santa ill then take up residence at the Grotto in CH Chemists where he’ll be staying right up until Christmas Eve.

The seasonal fantasy grotto is a must visit for children of all ages and as well as enjoying a magical journey through and enchanted forest to meet Santa in his log cabin every child will also receive a special gift.

Tickets to visit the Grotto – which are always in high demand – are being snapped up fast so to be certain of booking a place be sure to log on to www.chtralee.com (and follow the link to the ticket site) as soon as possible.

There is another reason to mark Saturday, November 24 in the festive diary.

After the CH Parade has drawn to a close the thousands of people who are expected to line the streets can file into the Town Sqaure to watch the county capital’s Christmas lights get switched on.

Mayor of Tralee Cllr Graham Spring will be presiding over the ceremony with reigning Rose of Tralee Kirsten Mate Maher on hand to hit the button and the turn on the town’s always impressive illuminations. It promises to be a great day and its all thanks to good the people at CH Chemists.
