The announcement has been welcomed by Councillor Michael Cahill. Councillor Cahill said this is the first countywide recruitment campaign for General Operatives by Kerry County Council in many years, following the Jobs Moratorium. The Fianna Fail Councillor said it is important that anyone who has an interest in working as a General Operative with the Local Authority submits an application before the closing date, as the Council will be forming Panels for each of the Municipal District areas and it may be a while again before it reopens to new applicants.
