There was a cold dry breeze with a series of hills to climb over the course for our athletes to contend with. Cian in the lead group of four and Conall working through the runners behind. Cian ran a great race, taking the lead after the first lap and fought hard to hold his place to take first place. Conall equally had a great last lap, where he was placed 16th going into the final kilometre, he push ahead and finally finished in 9th spot. Shauna McCarthy (KCC) competed in the Intermediate 3000m race. No stranger to cross country, she was part of the front pack withing the first 200m’s. Over the first lap Shauna was placed in second place and slowly opening up a gap between herself and third place runner. In the end she was unable to make up ground the contend first place, finishing in a strong second place. Congratulations to all three who now go forward to the Munster Finals on Feb. 15th.
