Swimming Results - Ellen O Connor 50m Breastroke U16 Gold 1st in Final. Sabhdh O Sullivan 50m Breastroke U12 Silver 2nd in Final Freya Doyle Backstroke U10 4th in Semi Final. Cormac Moriarty (Freestyle) and Eugene Mulligan (Freestyle) also took part. Well done to everyone for all your hard work and effort!

CYMS WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

Bingo takes place every Sun- day at 8.30pm. Jackpot €1,500.

KILLORGLIN CCE

Dance news: Well done to all the Killorglin CCE dancers from Irwin Irish Dancing who took part in the Biddies Festival celebratin­g St. Bridgets Day. Pupils took to the streets for the torch parade and then on stage at the CYMS with the Kilgobnet Junior and Senior Biddies, Cromane Biddies, Francine Sheehan’s Biddies competing for the title of King of the Biddies.

Countdown is on for our dancers in the 8 hand under 11 and two 4 hands under 11 and 13 who compete this month in the Munster Final of Ceol an Gheimhridh in Limerick. The banners are being made!!

Music News: Had a great weekend of music with the Biddy parade and concert in Killorglin on Saturday and then we had Féile Feabhra in Lixnaw on the Sunday. Congratula­tions to the following who won medals at Féile Feabhra Conor Murphy 3rd U10 Concertina, Megan Gillespie 2nd U12 Banjo and Jack Gillespie Jt 1st U12 Boys Singing.

Time to start gearing up for St Patrick’s day now - Comhaltas Session Class is on Fridays 7-8pm. Contact Brendan O’Sullivan (086) 361 2665 if you are interested in joining this group music class.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions to Anthony Joy who received an MBE in the recent New Year’s honours list.

Anthony received his citation for service to the community through his work in co-ordinating a unit of the London Metropolit­an Police.

Anthony is the son of Teresa (nee Courtney] of Droum-na-killa, Mastergeeh­y and Bill Joy of Steelroe, Killorglin and Hertfordsh­ire, U.K.

SCÓR NA BPÁISTÍ

The Laune Rangers Qualifying Round of Scór na bPáistí will be held in the Intermedia­te School, on Thursday 28th February, at 7.00pm.

Scór na bPáistí is open to young people who are attending primary school and who live in the Laune Rangers area of the Parish.

The competitio­ns are: Figure Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrument­al Music, Ballad Group, Recitation, Quiz, Léiriú, Sean Nós Dancing and Set Dancing.
