Heartfelt thanks for all the care given to Mollie (104)

-

SIR,

M ollie Murphy had lived in St Josephs Nursing Home in Kenmare for 16 years before she passed away.

I want to express wholeheartedly my gratitude to the management and all the staff for the loving care given to her there. She was known as Mollie and all her individual needs were understood and taken care off.

Mollie was in her 104th year, she was always encouraged to remain active and still walked with her stick up to a month before going to her eternal reward in November 2018.

She was nursed and cared for up to the very end in her comfortable surroundings with familiar staff around her.

Being a purpose build unit in a rural setting, St Joseph’s Nursing Home is a family run unit for people with dementia and, especially for patients with Alzheimer’s, it is planned in a way that people with agitated busy minds have the freedom to wander in safety and understanding rather than sedated and confined to chairs.

Mollie certainly settled in when recovering from a stroke and received her rehabilitation there with great encouragement love and care.

All Mollie’s family and friends wish to join me in their heartfelt thanks once again and especially Pam Kidney Sean Eimear Donnacha and all the staff for all the care and friendship given to us over the years, Sincerely,

Frances Kellett,
