Firies see off Glenflesk in blustery Farranfore

EAST KERRY A UNDER 21 CHAMPIONSH­IP SEMI-FINALS Firies 3-13 Glenflesk 2-10

PLAYED in windy conditions in Farranfore Glenflesk with aid of breeze in first half went in a point behind 1-8 to 1-7. Glenflesk went up three with a goal after half-time, but then the home side dominated the rest of the half with aid of strong breeze.

Rathmore 0-12 Currow 1-5

RATHMORE welcomed Currow to Rathbeg for the Under 21 B Championsh­ip semi-final on Sunday. An open and entertaini­ng first half saw the visitors up at half-time on a scoreline Rathmore 0-5 to Currow 1-3.

The teams matched each other point for point until the 21st minute when corner forward Brian O’Shea netted for Currow. First half points from David Dineen, Trevor Cremin, Anthony Darmody and a brace from Dean Fitzgerald left the score line 1-3 to 0-5 in favour of Currow.

Early points in the second half from Trevor Cremin and a brace by David Dineen saw Rathmore overturn the half-time one point deficit. Currow responded with a point from Con Enright before Anthony Darmody (2) and Darragh Rahilly saw the home team open a four point lead heading into the last five minutes.

The sides exchanged two further points before Rathmore ran out eventual winners on a scoreline

Rathmore will now meet Dr Crokes in the final date and time to be confirmed.

Dr Crokes 2-11 Spa 2-8

CROKES started off well in first half scoring 1-1 without reply but spa grew into to the game and with a strong wind were ahead at half-time 2-6 to 1-5.

In second half saw Crokes up the tempo and finish the game on a score line 2-11 to 2-8. Goal for Crokes were Josh Fleming and Finbarr Hickey. Every player on the panel worked hard throughout on a soft heavy ground.

SENIOR LEAGUE DIVISION 2 Gneeveguil­la 2-17 Cordal 1-11

CORDAL started well racing into a two-point lead, but Gneeveguil­la dominated rest of half with goals from Con Buckley and Mike Murphy to give Gneeveguil­la a lead of 2-11 to 0-5 at half time. The second half was even with both sides scoring 1-6, but Gneeveguil­la’s strong performanc­e in first half proved to be the difference.
