KILLARNEY LEGION

FIXTURES: Sunday 24th March County League Div 1Spa v Killarney Legion @4pmMinors Div 1 County League Sat 23rd MarchAustin Stacks v Killarney Legion (Tbc)Results:Div 1 Minor County League Rd 3Killarney Legion 1-9Laune Rangers 2-8A well fought battle between the sides at Direen, Legion put in a solid team performance with legion going in the stronger side at half time well on top on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-2. Second half saw Legion relax which left Rangers come back into it, Laune Rangers took their scores and at the final whistle saw them win marginally on a final scoreline of 1-09 to 2-08. Well done to both teams on what was a great game of football in tough conditions.

MINOR LADIES COUNTY LEAGUE DIV 2: Castleisland Desmond’s 0-14 Killarney Legion 1-10

Tough game for our minor girls today in Castleisland. In harsh conditions Legion played against the wind in the 15 a side encounter and only trailed by 3 pts at half time, having held up very well on the slippery pitch. The second half started with Desmonds getting 2 unanswered points and in heavy rain the Legion girls then traded points and then breached the tough Desmond’s defence for a well earned goal. However the half time lead by Desmonds was telling as Legion failed to captilise on the wind advantage in the driving rain and came up short by 4 pts at the final whistle, on a 0-14 to 1-07 scoreline. A brave and spirited performance by the girls who have two more games to look forward to in their division. Well done to the Management & players.
