Scart, Beale and O’Rahillys make early running

-

DIVISION FIVE GROUP A

BEALE, Kerins O’Rahillys and Scartaglin all made it two wins from two in this section as the B sides of Kenmare Shamrocks and Milltown/Castlemaine along with Sneem/ Derrynane are still to pick up points.

Beale 4-14 Sneem/Derrynane 0-5

LAST year’s Junior Club Championship Runners-Up will start the 2019 Club Championship off the of a 21-point victory over a poor Sneem/Derrynane outfit. Calum McSweeney’s goal gave Beale a lead of 1-6 to 0-2 lead at the break before goals from Darragh Buckley, Erik Daly and Cormac Linnane wrapped up their convincing win.

Milltown/Castlemaine B 2-15 Kerins O’Rahillys B 4-15

A VERY entertaining encounter saw both sides unable to be separated at half-time at 1-7 apiece as they were no shortage of goalscoring chances, both goalkeepers making saves and the woodwork being struck before O’Rahillys came out on top in the end. Two goals apiece for Jason O’Leary and Conor Hayes were the difference for the victors as Brendan Delaney scored both the Mid Kerry side’s goals.

Scartaglin 1-12 Dingle B 0-4

DOMINATION of the second period was the key to Scartaglin’s 11-point win over a Dingle side who only scored once in the second period. Scart had led by 0-6 to 0-3 at half-time with 1-3 from Pa Rahilly in the second period giving them control on a day Shay Walsh scored 0-5. Marc Evans scored three of Dingle’s points with Daniel Ryan getting the other.

Tuosist 0-10 Ballyduff 1-10

THE North Kerry side’s trip to Lauragh was a successful one especially with Padraig Boyle’s availability yielding 0-7 for the Kerry Hurler. Eoin Ross’ goal had given Ballyduff a 1-6 to 0-2 lead at the break, but they had to withstand a much better effort from their Kenmare District hosts in the second period. Four points from Colm Brosnan and three from Conor O’Shea were not enough to prevent Tuosist losing out by three, however.

Kenmare Shamrocks B 2-11 Dr Crokes C 2-13

AFTER losing to Tuosist in their first match, Crokes’ C team fared far better against another Kenmare District side in the Shamrocks’ B side. Kenmare scored both their goals in the first-half through Fionan and Rory O’Sullivan to make it 2-3 to 0-8 but a run of 2-3 without reply in the second period was crucial to the Killarney side’s win.
