WOMAN 2000

Woman 2000 is a women’s social group which meets every Tuesday from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the CYMS Killorglin. The aims of the group are to combat rural isolation and to encourage members to stay physically and mentally active, learn new skills, expand their social circle and make new friends. There are a wide range of activities including: exercise; arts and crafts; self development courses; speakers on subjects varying from bird watching to music, health issues to gardening, nutrition to self-awareness. Plus there are outings, competitions, quizzes, bingo, tea with brack and chat! A warm welcome awaits anyone who would like to come along and join us.

For more information please contact Margaret O’Sullivan (Chairperson) on 087 9020843.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR EXCITING LOCAL PROJECT

The holiday season is approaching and at the Reeks District Visitor Centre in Killorglin, we are getting ready to welcome visitors from Ireland and overseas.

Over the last 12 months, much work has gone into rebranding and publicising the fantastic natural amenities and things to do in the Reeks District.

We have been delighted by the extensive coverage in national and international press, including being named in the 2019 Rough Guides list and are looking forward to a successful visitor season.

Currently the Visitor Centre is open Monday - Friday from 9-5pm. However, to better meet the needs of those holidaying in the area, we would like to increase the opening hours to include some early evenings and Saturdays.

As a volunteer, you will be asked to offer between 2- 4 hours per week between June and September in the Visitor Centre.

You do not need to be an =91expert’ about the area or the activities that it offers; Most importantly, you need to have a genuine love for our region of Kerry and a desire to encourage others to enjoy it.

If you are interested in joining our team, please come along to the Volunteer Open Morning that we are holding on Saturday April 13th from 10am -- 1pm at the Reeks District Visitor Centre, Library Place, Killorglin.

For any further queries, please contact lee@reeksdistrict.com or Mobile 0879713339
