The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
Another win for Kerry U-17s
SSE AIRTRICITY U-17 LEAGUE Limerick 1 Kerry 2
THIS Kerry under-17 side have been a revelation so far this season and are performing far and beyond the expectations and performing exceptionally well in the SSE Airtricity under-17 league. They are now on the crest of a wave and are punching well above their weight in the national competition.
They went into this game on a high after a great win over Galway United the previous week and they kept the momentum going with another great victory.
This side have gelled together very quickly and are playing an appealing brand of football which is easy on the eye and pleases their growing number of supporters.
To win the game was great and the manner in which they did it was particularly pleasing. They got stuck into this game from the very outset and their passion and fire was well as their own skill and pace which their opponents their opponents found it difficult to content with.
They went ahead in the 20th minute with a goal from Nathan Gleeson but the home side equalised from the penalty spot.
The match winner came in the 85th minute and was scored by Ryan Guerin.
There is now a three-way tie on second place in the table below table toppers Shamrock Rovers and Kerry are in the mix with nine points from five games which is a remarkable achievement.
Certainly manager Billy Dennehy is getting the very best out of his squad and expectations for the season ahead are looking remarkably optimistic.
