Tralee Parnells take their first point in first home game

TRALEE Parnells hurlers had their first ever home game at adult level on Friday evening last against St. Brendan’s in Round 2 of the North Kerry Intermediate Hurling League.

The game was played at Caherslee where the host club marked the historic occasion with their Chairman, Dermot Reen, presenting a commemorative plaque to Jeremiah Clifford on behalf of the St Brendans’ club.

Both teams were played on to the field by a lone piper, while the Parnells’ Under 12s formed a guard of honour. On the field Parnells won their first league point as the game ended 1-8 each.

Other NK IHL Round 2 results: Causeway 1-13 Kilmoyley 0-8; Abbeydorney 1-15 Ballyheigue 1-11.

North Kerry Intermediate Hurling League Round 3 fixtures for this Friday, 7pm-Group 1: St Brendans v Lixnaw; Tralee Parnells v Causeway; Kilmoyley v bye. Group 2-Lady’s Walk v Ballyheigue; Crotta v Abbeydorney.

Group 1 Round 4 will also be played this weekend. St. Brendan’s play Causeway on Easter Sunday at 12.30pm. at Ardfert while on Monday, Kilmoyley will be at home to Lixnaw, 6pm.
