CURROW CURRANS

Currow had a big win today over St Mary’s Caherciveen on a score line of 2-13 to 10 points in the second group game in the intermediate championship in Currow. Currow scored their first point after 5 minutes to draw level with a point from Mike McCarthy and proceed to lead throughout the game.All the full forward line of Mike McCarthy john Buckley and Daniel O Shea scored a point a piece to give Currow a 5 point to 4 lead after 20 minutes. Seamus Brosnan and 2 from Pa McCarthy gave Currow a 3 point lead when luke Fitzgerald scored a great individual goal after a solo run 2 further points sent Currow to the half time break 1-09 to 6 point lead. A goal from Mike McCarthy plus 3 more points put Currow in a very strong position as st Mary’s struggled for scores. At the end of the game Currow ha 9 points to spare and now head to Dromid next weekend in good shape .The date and time of that fixture will be confirmed on Monday so keep an eye out and please come out and support the lads. A super start to the second half saw Connie O Connor score 2 goals and 2 points another Padraig Fleming point put Currow ahead 2-06 to 6 points. Fossa then threw everything at Currow and on the stroke of full time levelled the game 0-12 to 2-06.

Currow Currans Ladies Football Club: On Wednesday March 27th and our Minor Ladies Played Kilcummin in the Country League in Kilcummin. Playing against a Physically stronger and Older Kilcummin Team our girls put up a great display. We led at half 2-04 to 0-04 playing with a strong wind and held onto our Lead for all the second half until Kilcummin finally drew level with 2 minutes to go and got the winning point in Injury time. The Final score was 3-11 to 3-10. On Sunday April 7th our Senior Ladies played Laune Rangers in Killorglin in the Mary Joe Curran Cup. On the Day we were missing many regulars and trailed 4-04 to 2-05 at half time. However we put up a spirited performance in the second half and out scored our hosts but could not close the gap with Laune Rangers running out winners 5-06 to 3-08.
