Club Championship Rd2: Killarney Legion 0-11 Kerins O Rahilly’s 1-06. This round 2 meeting didn’t quiet live up to expectations in the first half with both sides getting off to a slow start at Direen. Both sides kicked some lovely points from play going in level at the half time whistle 5points a piece. The second half started was hot n heavy, with referee Mike Hennessy showing Damien O’Sullivan and minutes later Jack Savage the line. Legion got to grips at midfield having closed off Rahilly’s short kick out which saw them edge ahead in what was a hotly contested second half. Legion just about came away with a valuable 2 points leaving group two wide open going into round 3.

Minor Div 1 Semi Final: Killarney Legion 4-8 Na Gaeil 2-13

This was definitely a game of two halves, Legion never got going to Na Gaeils credit in the opening half. The second half was quick paced trading points but it wasn’t until the final quarter Legion kicked into gear and the game got going. Well done to a great bunch of players and Management, Good luck for the final.

Legion U-16 Girls Killarney Legion 1-5 Na Gaeil 3-7

Legion u16 girls continued their division 2 County league campaign by welcoming Na Gaeil to Dirreen on Thursday evening. Playing with the benefit of a good breeze in the first half Legion dominated for periods and went in at half time ahead by 2-4 to 1-2. However, it was expected that a talented Na Gaeil team would come back strongly in the second half. A good start was important for Legion and they duly obliged scoring 1-2 without reply while keeping Na Gaeil at bay at the other

end. As the game wore on, Na Gaeil came more and more into it and reduced the gap. However, Legion steadied and through some Trojan work all around the pitch finished the stronger and won through on a score of 3-7 to 1-5. Well done again girls who are working very hard for each other and representing the club very well, developing all the time. Match Report U-12 Girls: Killarney Legion 1-4 Southern Gaels 4-6

Our u12 girls completed their preliminary round matches with a home game this evening at direen. We came up against a physically stronger Southern Gaels side who capitalized on having the benefit of a strong wind in the first half. The visitors went in at half time with a commanding lead having raised a green flag on 4 occasions.

With the benefit of the wind on our backs in the second half our girls showed great fighting spirit throughout. However scores proved difficult to come by. Credit to the South Kerry girls, they kicked a few great scores against the wind to run out worthy winners on a scoreline of 4-6 to 1-4. U-12 Boys v Dingle: One of our U12 boys teams made the long trip out west to take on Dingle in the second round of the County League this evening. In atrocious weather conditions, both teams served up a sporting contest. Battling wind and rain, our lads gave a great account of themselves and represented the club with distinction. Thanks to our hosts in Dingle GAA Club

We would like to thank everyone who turned out last weekend to help with the Annual church gate collection.
