Cups and Shields reaching business end for many clubs

U-12 CUP

Tralee Dynamos and Iveragh United booked their place in the John Murphy U-12 Cup semi-final draw that took place later in the day.

Dynamos were a little too strong for Mastergeeh­a with their goals coming from Pierce Lowth, Adam Evans, Shay Kelliher, Mathew Rogers and Brandon Long. Iveragh United’s win over the Park was much closer with the only goal in the game in Tralee coming from Daithi Sugrue.

U-12 SHIELD

Preliminar­y Round Camp Juniors are into Round 1 proper of the John Murphy U-12 Shield as they defeated Listowel Celtic with goals from Dillon Hartnett (2), Mark Farrell, David Moore, Dean Goodwin and Dev Mukherjee. They will be at home to Killarney Athletic in Round 1.

MEK were 3-1 winners away at Killarney Celtic B. Kevin Coffey, Fergal Murphy and an og saw them get over the line with Cam Janot replying for Celtic. Next up for MEK B is a home game against LB Rovers.

Also into Round 1 are the Park C who defeated MEK 4-1 and will meet Castleisla­nd at home. The MEK goal was scored by Eanna Murphy.

Round 1

Killorglin C are through to the next round of the John Murphy U-12 Shield following a staring performanc­e from Colm Evans who hit all his sides goals in a 4-2 win. For Camp Juniors B Jago Brodie and Mikey O’Leary got the goals.

Killorglin B joined them their team mates in the Last 8 with a win over Ballyhar. The winner’s goals came from James Jones, Patrick O’Donnell, Rioghan O’Sullivan and Luke Caherlane.

The Park B have also progressed winning away at Fenit B. Brendan Maunsell, Oliver Lata and Oisin Breen scored for the Park.

U-13 CUP

Goals from player of the game Andrew Owens with two, Jack McGrath, Liam Ryan and Ryan Carey saw Killorglin win away at Tralee Dynamos in the quarter-final of the John Joe Naughton U-13 Cup. Eoin Flaherty and Rory O’Halloran replied for Dynamos.

To make it a great day for the club the Bs have also reached the Last 4 with a 2-0 win over Listowel Celtic. Jessie O’Reilly and Cian O’Brien got the goals for Killorglin.

U-14 CUP

Listowel Celtic just got the better of the Park is this closely fought Tom Hayes U-14 Cup. Goals from Evan Boyle, Cormac Dillon and Sean O’Mahony saw Celtic progress with Bobby Byrne and Darragh Cunnane on the mark for the Park.

U-14 GIRLS CUP

Camp Juniors and Listowel Celtic were level after extra time in a cracking U-14 Girls Cup tie. Sophie O’Connor got the goal for the home side with Trina Kennedy getting the goal for Listowel Celtic to send the game into extra time.

In the penalty shoot-out Lily Twomey, Trina Kennedy and keeper Nicola Kennelly scored for Listowel Celtic which saw the tie still level at 3-3. Ruth O’Connor won it for the North Kerry side in sudden death.

U-14 SHIELD

Killarney Celtic B were a little too strong for Killorglin B and will now meet Dingle Bay Rovers at Celtic Park in the quarter finals. The Celtic goals came from Fionn Noctor, Max Brzowski, Eoin Carroll, Liam Mulhern, Alex O’Callaghan, Adam Doherty and James McClain.

Killarney Athletic are guaranteed to have a team in the last 4. Their A side defeated Tralee Dynamos thanks to goals from Mathew Moynihan and Noah Sexton. They will meet the B team in the quarter finals.

One round ahead and into semi- finals are LB Rovers thanks to a 3-0 score-line against Fenit.

U-15 SHIELD

Tralee Dynamos are into the next round of the Healy Family U-15 Shield with a win away at MEK. Donagh Stephenson (2), Alex Hoare and Sean Whelan got the Tralee sides goals.

Also into the hat in the U-15 Shield are Listowel Celtic who knocked out Fenit after extra time. The game was tied at 2-2 before Celtic added two in extra-time. Sam Locke, Sean Keane and Adam Segal were on the mark for Celtic with Eddie Murphy getting both for Fenit.

U-16 CUP

Killarney Athletic booked one of the places in the last 4 of the Tucker Kelly U-16 Cup thanks to a 3-0 score-line over Park B.
