If the nurse is unavailable at the time you ring leave your name and number and she will come back to you. Procedures available are; Blood Pressure checks, Dressings, Supplies, General Information and any health queries you might have. Seirbhís Déardaoin /Thursday Services. On next Thursday Holy Thursday April 18th we will have no lunches because of the Holy week services. We wish all our elderly a happy and Holy Easter and hope to see you all back on Thursday April 25th which is our day for our montly Mass. All elderly and any newcomers are welcome.

NATIONAL POETRY DAY

The very unique setting of the 12th century Romanesque church site on Church Island on Lough Currane in Waterville will be the venue for celebrating National Poetry Day on Thursday, 2nd May. Music will be played on a unique instrument, a fidula modelled on the stone carving the ‘fiddler stone’, which has been on the island for centuries. This carving is, according to archaeologists, the only one of its kind in the country. The fidula (fiddle) will be played by singer Seán Garvey who will be joined by poets Paddy Bushe and Kathleen O’Shea Moran reading poems of sanctity, saints and salmon! There will also be an open mic session. A shuttle bus will leave from Waterville Community Centre at 11.30am and boats will be leaving from The Bungalow from 12.00pm. Bring a packed lunch. If the weather is unsuitable the event will take place in St Michael’s Church, Waterville at 2.00pm.The event is being organised as a curtain raiser for the second Amergin Solstice Poetry Gathering: Éigse na Gréine which will take place in Waterville, 20th 23rd June. The AGM of Comharcumann Naomh Fhionáin Teo will be held in the Comhchoiste Offices in Kenneigh on Thursday the 9th of May at 8pm. Shareholders are requested to attend.
