HOSPICE WALK

The annual Good Friday walk in aid of Kerry Hospice foundation will take place on April 19th at 10.30am. Starting from the Recreation Hall there will be a choice of two walks, 4km and 8km. Refreshmen­ts will be provided in the hall after the walk. Spot prizes for all participan­ts with the top prize of a magnificen­t Easter egg hamper sponsored by Alan Oliver of Lír Café. Last year’s walk raised €2,970. The committee wishes to sincerely thank you for your generous donations. Thanks also to Kilcummin Post Office, Larkins Bakery, the Hall committee and all those who help to organise the walk. Donations will be accepted on the day. A meeting to organise the walk will be held in the Recreation Hall on Monday April 8th at 9pm. Newcomers welcome. Please come along and support.

I.C.A. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Annual General Meeting was held recently and the following officers were elected; President Eileen Greaney, Vice President Phil Doolan, Secretary Eileen Moynihan, Assistant Secretary Kathleen Culloty, Treasurer Eileen O’Sullivan, Assistant Treasurer Margaret Dennehy, Grianán Teachta Phil Doolan, P.R.O. Kathleen Culloty, Craft Promoters Eileen Greaney & Eileen Finn, Timire na Gaeilge Joan Collins, Tea Hostesses Eileen Purcell and Nora Flynn. Meeting was attended by Geraldine Dennehy, Federation Treasurer.

CRAFT CLASS

A Craft Class will take place on Wednesday 17th April at 8.00pm in the Rural Developmen­t Office. All ladies welcome.

THE BIG COFFEE MORNING

The big Coffee Morning will take place on Saturday 27th April from 10.00am to 12.00pm at the Royal Hotel, Killarney. Dedicated to the memory of Brenda Fitzgerald. All proceeds in aid of Pieta House including a raffle with great prizes.

THE MORIARTY SCHOOL OF DANCING

The Moriarty School of Dancing would like to congratula­te their set dancers who enjoyed great success over the weekend. They won the County Final of Scór na bPáistí when they represente­d Kilcummin GAA Club in Glenbeigh last Saturday. On Sunday they travelled to The Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry where they achieved three firsts, one second and one third in a highly competitiv­e competitio­n.

RECYCLE OR SWAP YOUR BOOKS

Want a good read? In a new initiative by Looking Good for April which is Reuse Month you can now recycle or swap your books which are in good condition in the Rural Developmen­t Office. Special box in the office for drop off/pick up during office opening hours.

COUNTY CLEAN UP DAY KILCUMMIN LOOKING GOOD

A big thank you to all the people who have made such a big effort in cleaning up their areas. We are still looking for volunteers to assist in collecting rubbish on the roads in their area. Bags are available at the Rural Developmen­t Office and can be returned there when full. Míle Buíochas.

COMPUTER TRAINING

Word Processing Level 3. Commencing on Monday 29th April until Monday 27th May, resuming in September in the Rural Developmen­t Office. This module includes producing a range of documents, letters, posters, editing, formatting, printing etc. For further informatio­n please contact Mary McSweeney 087 779 8573.
