CÚNAMH IVERAGH RESPITE HOME PROJECT

Cyclists are needed to support Cúnamh Iveragh who have been selected as one of the Main Beneficiar­ies of the Ring Of Kerry Charity Cycle which will take place on the 6th July. Cúnamh Iveragh will renovate their 2nd house in Cahersivee­n to prepare for a Respite Service In Cahersivee­n. This will cost €250,000. Cyclists can register online @ www.ringofkerr­ycycle.ie. JOHN O’SHEA MEMORIAL CYCLE

The O’Shea Family wish to thank sincerely anyone who helped in any way with the cycle. €3,612.07 was raised for the Irish Pilgrimage Trust 135 who take special needs children to Lourdes at Easter. Thanks to everyone.

TIDY TOWNS

We wish to thank everyone young and old, who helped with the KWD County Clean Up on Saturday. A total of 80 bags was collected- a reduction from last year, a good sign that we have clamped on illegal dumping in Waterville and the surroundin­g area.

NATIONAL POETRY DAY

The very unique setting of the 12th century Romanesque church site on Church Island on Lough Currane in Waterville will be the venue for celebratin­g National Poetry Day on Thursday, 2nd May.

A shuttle bus will leave from Waterville Community Centre at 11.30am and boats will be leaving from The Bungalow from 12.00pm. Bring a packed lunch.

If the weather is unsuitable the event will take place in St Michael’s Church, Waterville at 2.00pm.
