1. TOM CREAN CYCLE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR DSK

THE ‘Tom Crean Unsung Hero Cycle’ will take place this Saturday April 20 from the Ballyseedy Garden Centre.

The cycle will be in memory of Emily Keohane and will raise funds for Down Syndrome Kerry,

Registrati­on will take place at 9am on the day; there will be a 44km and 75km route to choose from.

2. FUNDRAISIN­G CONCERT IN THE TINTEÁN

A FUNDRAISIN­G variety concert in aid of the St John of God Kerry Services is taking place on the night of Friday April 26 in the Tinteán Theatre in Ballybunio­n.

Doors open at 7:30pm on the evening with door tickets set to cost just €10.

All money raised from this event will go towards helping to bus a bus for the service.

Extra incentive to attend is the fact that there will be a special prize of €100 on the door ticket.

3. CELTIC STEPS SHOW IN BALLYHEIGU­E

THERE is a great night in store at the Ballyheigu­e Community Centre on Saturday April 20 as the ‘Celtic Steps’ show comes to town.

The night will also feature the musical talents of the brilliant O’Neill sisters.

Doors open on the night at 7:15pm with the show itself starting at 8pm; tickets are available by contacting Ballyheigu­e Community Centre on 066 713 3837.

4. HIGH KINGS SET TO ENTERTAIN THE INEC

THE brilliant group, ‘The High Kings’ are set to perform in the INEC later this month on Sunday April 21 in what is sure to be a fantastic night of music.

Doors open on the night at 8:30 with the show itself set to start at 9:30pm.

Tickets are currently on sale from the INEC box office and are set to cost just €31.

5. BIG CANAL CLEAN UP TAKES PLACE NEXT FRIDAY

BUSINESSES from all around Tralee are set to close their doors next Friday, April 26 as they take part in another canal outing clean up.

From 2pm to 5pm, businesses such as Physical Direction Fitness and Sigmar Recruitmen­t will help the ‘Evan, Alex and Dylan’ on their third big clean up of the canal.

All members of the public are welcome to join too; meeting at the Tralee Bay Wetlands.

6. STILL TIME TO SIGN UP FOR BALLYBUNIO­N RUN

THERE are three options for people to choose from in the upcoming ‘Run Ballybunio­n’ event which takes place this coming Easter Saturday, April 20.

Runners can choose from a half-marathon, 10k road race or kids fun run to take part in.

7. KERRY CHORAL UNION HOLDING CHARITY CONCERT

THE Kerry Choral Union will hold a fundraisin­g concert in aid of Recovery Haven on Sunday April 28 at 7:30pm.

Tickets are set to cost just €10 each.

8. PLENTY OF EASTER FUN TO BE HAD IN TRALEE

THERE plenty of upcoming Easter activities coming up in Tralee to keep the kids entertaine­d over the school holidays.

First up is the Family Fancy Dress Charity Fun Run which takes place in the Tralee Town Park on Saturday April 20 which starts at 12:30pm.

If running isn’t your thing, then there are plenty more activities to keep you entertaine­d, including an Easter Teddy Bear Trail, an Easter afternoon in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel and an Easter Tea Party in the Ashe Hotel on Easter Sunday.

9. 60K WOMEN’S CYCLE FOR BREAST CANCER

A 60k Women’s Cycle of North Kerry will take place at the end of this month which will be in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland.

The cycle will take place on Sunday April 28 at 11am from the Ballybunio­n Health and Leisure Centre.

The route will see cyclists cycling from Ballybunio­n, into Listowel, onto Tarbert and back into Ballybunio­n for some well-earned refreshmen­ts.

Registrati­on is €25.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends? There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

People can register and print off their run barcodes at parkrun. ie.
