THE search is on for Ireland’s unsung heroes, people who have helped change the lives of others of the lives of many in their local community
Nominations for the first-ever Sunday Independent / Gala Retail Inspiration Awards are now open.
The awards programme is searching for Ireland’s unsung heroes; those individuals who make Ireland a better place through their selfless acts and inspirational deeds.
With six categories covering young people, sports, caring, environmental change, charity and community; the awards will be judged by an esteemed panel including Sunday Independent columnist and Health and Wellness Coach, Alison Canavan.
From the six category winners, an overall Inspirational Person of the Year will be crowned at the Gala awards evening – presented by Miriam O’Callaghan – which will take place in The Marker Hotel, Dublin on November 20.
“We’re a national brand with a local focus, which is why we’ve partnered with the Sunday Independent to pay homage to people from across Ireland who play their part creating a better Ireland. Our stores hear about inspirational stories every day from their shoppers and their communities, and this is our chance to give back and support those inspirational people who selflessly go over and above for others,” said Gary Desmond, CEO of Gala Retail.
With 200 convenience stores nationwide, Gala stores are renowned for championing their local communities.
