20x20 Gaelic4Teens Programme

- LADIES GAA Paul Murphy

IT is time to register your interest in the 2020 Gaelic4Teens programme, as the LGFA is now inviting applications. The Gaelic4Teens initiative aims to tackle the issue of player retention in the 13-17 years age bracket and has had hugely successful results assisting clubs through coach education.

The programme spans eight weeks and culminates with that jam-packed day of activities in Abbottstown, as participating clubs visit the impressive venue for a series of 7-a-side games, while also picking up valuable tips and coaching expertise from our Gaelic4Teens Ambassadors who are a host of current and former LGFA stars with expertise in the areas involved.

After completing the programme, participating clubs are armed with the knowledge and skills necessary to retain players in their late teens, and their progress will be consistently monitored throughout the following year.

For details and application forms visit www.ladiesgaelic.ie

The closing date for applications is Friday, November 22, and for further information, contact National Development Officer William Harmon: william. harmon@lgfa.ie

U15 DEVELOPMENT

As the 2019 U15 Development finally came to an end we would sincerely like to thank all of you who took part & attended our training sessions over the last eight weeks. We would particularly like to thank all those ladies who made the effort at all hours of this morning on your day off to get up and go to Mallow to take part in the Munster Blitz.

You wore your county colours with pride, and it was extremely satisfying to us the management team to see so many smiling faces at the end of a hard day’s football in the cold and wet conditions. You won’t have to miss us too much as U-16 trials for 2020 will be commencing in about three weeks. Enjoy the break everyone.

U12 DEVELOPMENT

U-12 Development continues Saturdays in Ballyrickard. Fantastic mornings work with fabulous skills on show. Well done to all the girls. North Kerry 9:45am to 11am. South Kerry 11am to 12:15pm.

It’s open to all girls in the county. Each girl is asked to bring €3, water and gum shield to cover costs. Goalkeeping training will also take place during this.
