Update from Coiste Cultúra

1. Tráth na gCeist as Gaeilge - Clubs are invited to enter the National Table Quiz with all questions as Gaeilge, club team of four registered membersNational final on 14th December, Provincial final tbc, Interested clubs - contact Christy Kileen for additional details.

2. Sixty post primary students / youth members from clubs of Kerry travelled west to Coláiste Chorcha Dhuibhne during the summer months of 2019 availing of the much sought after Gaeltacht Scholarship assistance, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed the unique Gaeltacht experience of improving Irish language, culture and sport. Clubs / club executives whose youth member(s) availed of the above Gaeltacht Scoiláireacht should encourage and support such member in promotion of Gaeilge in their club activities. “The promotion of our culture and heritage is central to the aims of the GAA”. 3. It’s “Scór Time” once again, it’s that time of the year when club members prepare to display their cultural talents, proudly representing their club on the indoor stage instead of on the pitch. “SCÓR seeks to actively promote and support traditional Irish dance, music, song and other aspects of Irish culture through a range of competitions all designed to encourage participation, enjoyment, inclusion and excellence of our GAA club members”. Let’s all be part of it!

Every club in Ciarraí is invited and challenged to make an “iarracht mór” to participate in at least one of the eight disciplines of (i) Scór Sinsear (Adults), (ii) Scór na nÓg (u-17 yrs.), (iii) Scór na bPaistí (Primary Schools). Every club have member(s) or Officer(s) who can assist with Scór by either participating, volunteering, organising, mentoring or encouraging other members to participate-adopt the challenge and motto of “Yes I Can - Is Feidir Liom”. Members are waiting to be asked! Take on this challenge and encourage your club to participate in Scór.
