KIERAN CORRIDAN INTERMEDIATE CUP FINAL Ballydonoghue B 2-14 Castleisland Desmonds 3-8

O’RAHILLY Park, Ballylongford was the venue for the Kieran Corridan North Kerry Intermediate Cup Final last Sunday week. Desmonds opened the scoring in the second min but the first half was a one-sided affair with Ballydonoghue on top in all sectors of the field.

Goals from Paudie Lyons and Stephen Foley, along with nine points, only one of these from a free, had Ballydonoghue ahead by 2-9 to 0-3 approaching half time. Desmonds did goal just before the interval through Cian Mangan to leave the half-time score reading Ballydonoghue 2-9 Desmonds 1-3.

Nine points was a big deficit for Desmonds to overcome but to their credit they set about it early in the half when Steven Murphy goaled. Thomas Walsh added a minor to leave five points between the sides. Brian Mason and Paudie Lyons, twice, pointed for Ballydonoghue before Paraic O’Connor found the net again for Desmonds.

There was a lot of energy in Desmonds’ play at this point and they had Ballydonoghue concerned. Ballydonoghue made several changes and points from Paudie Lyons and Jim Cremin settled the nerves. Desmonds did score four points to make it a one score game but Ballydonoghue’s excellent first half performance was too much to overhaul.

Trevor Corridan, on behalf of the Corridan Family and Johnny Stack Chairman of the NKB presented the Cup to a delighted Ballydonoghue Captain David Foley as they celebrated their third title in the last five years in this competition.
