Exciting County U21 final set for Bank Holiday Monday
THE Final of the 2019 Acorn Life County Under 21 Hurling Championship between Lixnaw and Kenmare / Kilgarvan / Dr Crokes will take place on this Monday, October 28 [Bank Holiday] at Austin Stack Park, 2pm.
County Leagues
CAUSEWAY and Kilgarvan will contest the final of the County Senior Hurling League Division 2. In last weekend’s semi-finals Causeway had a 1-14 to 1-8 win over Dr Crokes while at Ardfert, Kilgarvan defeated St Brendans by 4-14 to 2-10.
In Division 1, St Brendans and Causeway have qualified for the final, date to be confirmed.
Under 19 Tournament
THE inaugural Kerry Under 19 Club Hurling Tournament will take place at the Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence, Currans on this Saturday, October 26.
Five clubs are competing-Crotta, St Brendans, Ballyheigue, Kilmoyley and Abbeydorney; teams 10-a-side. The first game throws in at 10:30am with the last round scheduled for 12.10pm. Each team gets four games; eight minutes per half. Full pitch with full rules and rolling subs. The team that top the group wins the competition. Score difference will count. Ryall’s Bus Hire, Abbeydorney has sponsored a set of O’Neill’s training jerseys for the winners.
Munster Club
CAUSEWAY have an away game against Ballysaggart [Waterford] on Sunday, November 3 in the quarter final of the Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship.
In the Munster Junior Hurling Championship quarter-final, Kilgarvan will have a home tie against the Cork champions on Saturday, November 16. Full fixture details at www.munstergaa.ie
Awards
THE North Kerry Hurling Board Annual Awards function will take place at Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Friday, November 29. The Tralee Parnell’s Annual Awards night will take place on Friday, November 8, while the club AGM will take place on Friday, November 15.
North Kerry update
THE semi-finals and Finals [Cup & Shield] of the Tom Healy Under 15 Hurling Tournament will be played under lights at Abbeydorney on this Friday, October 25, commencing at 6.45pm.
In the semi-finals, St. Brendan’s play Lixnaw and Ballyheigue meet Ballyduff. The winners will contest the Cup Final and the losers compete for the Shield title. The competition is hosted by Abbeydorney Hurling Club and sponsored by the North Kerry Hurling Board. The Finals are scheduled for Friday, October 25.
