The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)

Billy Nolan & Hilser’s Jewellers

-

FOR the past 55 years Billy Nolan and his team have been providing Tralee and Kerry people with that perfect gift for that someone special. As a business they have always strived to provide the best quality service, with a unique mix of quality branded products at competitive prices. Accompanying their products is their ethos that they provide the best customer service to satisfy every customer who passes through their doors. The team believe that by being pro-active and not reactive is how they have grown this business. The Nolans have two well established stores in the town, employing 14 people, and can also see a growth in online sales – which is why they have taken on the task of providing the same level of service online. For the Nolans, their staff are an extension of their family. It is these family values that allow the Nolans to motivate and encourage staff – no Nolan would ask a staff member to do something they wouldn’t do themselves. Equally, for many years this business has promoted the local community – from sponsorship of local events to Billy himself leading a lot of community initiatives. A former president of Tralee Chamber and the Retail Jewellers of Ireland, Billy lately set up the tourist kiosk in the centre of Tralee, and was also centrally involved in the model railway at Blennerville, among other local projects. Surviving 55 years in business is no small feat – dynamic business practices and fluid thinking and decision making are the key to success for Billy Nolan and Hilsers Jewellers.
