THE Oyster Tavern is a family run bar and restaurant, offering fresh and locally caught seafood, in business for the last 33 years. Well known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere and extensive wine and spirits menu, The Oyster Tavern also caters for small weddings and on special occasions - like their annual overseas golfers event every September - they provide a beautiful spread of fresh seafood and meats buffet. The Oyster Tavern only serves locally sourced food, using top quality ingredient­s. The Oyster is a prime example of ‘Irish hospitalit­y’. It’s not just about giving a great service and experience to their guests, it’s the warm welcome guests receive on a daily basis by Jim McGrath, the owner, and all 20 members of the team. The Oyster is very lucky to have retained a lot of their staff through the years, and there’s a high team spirit in place here. Jim appreciate­s his staff, their inputs, and is quick to reward their efforts. Jim and his crew also they support the local community, in the tidying of the area, planting of flowers, cleaning, sponsoring the local football and soccer teams and local golf club. And they hold an annual compliment­ary ‘bacon & cabbage’ night just before Christmas as a way of thanking their customers for their custom over the year. The Oyster Tavern also has a long history of supporting local charity fundraiser­s The Oyster has been recognized throughout the years as being a home away from home, looking after the community and ensuring anybody that walks through the door is made feel welcome and their custom valued and appreciate­d at all times.
