SKELLIG Soaps specialises in producing 100% natural, artisan, high quality soaps and body care products, for sale in Cahirciveen. The shop is a unique, sensory experience where soaps can be seen curing, and jars of locally harvested lavender, chamomile, heather and furze can be enjoyed within a gallery of Alice’s own photographs of the landscape and people of South Kerry. All her products are free from preservatives, artificial colours, perfumes or fragrances, and are never tested on animals! Instead, they use pure essential oils, herbs and natural additives like seaweed, cocoa, honey, oats, coffee, cinnamon, lavender, poppy seeds ... it’s all good stuff! They source local supplies as much as possible, and that ranges from local seaweed to Valentia Slate. They also offer workshops for adults and children, and their soap demonstrations have proven very popular. This is very much a family business and all are motivated by a genuine belief and love of their brand and their products. A Cahirciveen native, Alice feels that opening her shop on Main Street sends out a message of confidence that is part of a resurgence in the beautiful market town. This business has grown from a small market stand to a business now supplying hotels and spas throughout Ireland with unique, beautiful, quality products that have drawn several awards already.
