FLYING FIT FOR CANCER

Flying Fit based at Collis Sandes House, Tralee, have organised two charity events for Recovery Have this week, and are inviting the public to pop along and show their support. The first is their ‘Pole for Breast Cancer’ which takes place this Thursday evening (Oct 24th) at 7.30pm, with pole dancing and some other fun games planned. The second event is their ‘Dance for Breast Cancer’ on Sunday (Oct 27th) from 6-8pm, offering two fun-filled hours of dance fitness. Both events are open to everyone, and all that is required is a small donation -- and to wear pink! For more, check out flying Fit and recovery Haven on Facebook.

SAVE THE DATE

A gala Christmas floral demonstration is being planned by multiFéile na mBláth award winner Kathleen Reidy in aid of Recovery Haven Kerry on December 5th, at the River Island Hotel Castleisland. Full details to follow in the coming weeks, but be sure to save the date!

MOVEMBER

DO you know any men out there willing to do their bit for a great cause while highlighting the importance of men’s health at the same time? Well if so, have the perfect challenge for you! Recovery Haven Kerry is currently looking to recruit men for its 2019 Movember Challenge, asking them to grow a beard or moustache between now and the end of November ahead of their big shave off at The Rose Hotel Tralee on November 27th. The charity would also love to hear from individuals who may have an existing signature moustache or beard that they would be willing to sacrifice for such a good cause!

Last year, over 160 men across the Kingdom took part in Recovery Haven’s inaugural Movember Challenge and raised a staggering €35,000 for the charity. This year, organisers are hoping to break that record and are now putting the call out to men across the Kerry to sign up.

Anyone wishing to sign up for this year’s Movember Challenge is asked to contact Recovery Haven on 0667192122 or email: marisa@recoveryhavenkerry. com to register and secure their sponsorship card.
