CANCER COFFEE MORNING
Mary Horan and friends are hosting a coffee morning “Cups for breast cancer” at The Heritage Centre. Scartaglen on this Sunday October 27th from 10am to 1pm. Everyone welcome. Donations can be made on the day and would be greatly appreciated.
SUNDAY NIGHT DANCING
The Neily O Connor Band will provide the entertainment for the regular and very popular Sunday evening dance in Scartaglen Heritage Centre on 27th October 2019.
HANDED DOWN
A very good crowd turned out for the first Handed Down programme of Series 6 at Scartaglen Heritage Centre on Saturday night last, when once again some excellent entertainment was enjoyed by those in attendance. The main part of the programme was an excellent presentation by Bryan O Leary on “Kerry music recorded in New York in the 1950s and 60s” and which mainly featured Denis Murphy and Corneilus O Sulivan. Organiser PJ Teahan appealed once again for any old tapes or photographs of a traditional nature that people might have in their possession, as it’s vitally important that such material is made available to all and preserved for posterity. Next up on Saturday November 9th is “Going To The Well For Water” which will be presented by Maire O Keeffe.
INDOOR MARKET
The annual indoor market in aid of Kerry Parents and Friends will be held in Castleisland Community Centre on Friday November 9th.
CHURCH DUTIES

GAA LOTTO DRAW
Scartaglen GAA Clubs next Lotto Draw is in O Connors Bar on Sunday night next October 27th when the jackpot will be E8,200. Those asked to supervise the draw are Thomas Fortune and Shay Walsh.
LADIES FOOTBALL CELEBRATION
Following a highly successful season on the playing fields Scartaglen Ladies Football Club are holding a celebratory night in Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee on Saturday night November 16th. The get together will consist of s sit down meal, entertainment and medal presentations. The club are also celebrating it’s 30th anniversary this year, so this should be a very happy and enjoyable night and occasion not to be missed. Tickets will be available shortly.
GREYHOUND RACING
“Scart Diamond” was a Scartaglen winner at The Kingdom Greyhound Stadium, Tralee on Tuesday night, October 15th clocking 28.86 for owner James Mahony of Knockeenahone.
