1. FESTIVAL OF LIGHT COMING TO LISTOWEL

LISTOWEL will host the ‘Festival of Light Independen­t Arts Festival’ from Thursday October 31 to Saturday November 2.

This proved to be a hugely success weekend last year and organisers are hoping for the same success once again this year.

2. PRES PRIMARY TO HOLD FASHION SHOW IN ROSE

PRESENTATI­ON Primary School will hold their fashion show in the Rose Hotel in Tralee on the night of October 24.

The night which is being billed as ‘Trends of 2019’ will run from 7:30pm onwards; tickets are available to buy by contacting the school.

3. SEÁN KEANE TO PLAY IN THE GLÓRACH THEATRE

THE legendary Sean Keane will take to the stage in the Glórach Theatre later this month in what will surely be a great night of music for all involved.

The Galway born singer will be performing on the night of Sunday October 27 from 8pm until late; if you’re in and around the area, be sure to call in and enjoy a great night.

4. CATCH SOME Z’S IN RATHMORE CENTRE

SAN Rita Wellness will hold a ‘Ladies Welnness & Fashion Evening’ in the Rose Hotel this Friday night. October 25.

The doors will open at 6:30pm and the event itself will start at 7:30pm; expert speakers on the night will talk about topics including mindfulnes­s, body shape weat while there will also be a cooking demo, two fashion shows and more.

5. BALLAD & FOLK NIGHT IN THE ASHE HOTEL

A NIGHT that is being billed as one not to be missed is set to take place in the Ashe Hotel on Friday December 6 and to whet your appetite even more, it will be in aid of two very worthy local organisati­ons.

‘Ballad and Folk’ is the name of the event and for one night only, it will bring together a selection of brillian ballad bands all under one roof.

Tickets for this event are on sale now for €20 and are available to buy from the Paco store on The Mall in Tralee.

6. MOUNTHAWK TO HOLD TY FASHION SHOW

EXCITEMENT has reached peak levels at Mercy Mounthawk this week after Transition Year students officially launched their upcoming fashion show which will take place in the school’s gym on Thursday October 24.

With 2020 just a few months away, the students have chosen the theme ‘Roaring Twenties’ which will guarantee some fantastic costumes on the night.

7. TABLE QUIZ AND RAFFLE IN AID OF TWO CHARITIES

A fundraisin­g table quiz along with a draw for both Kerry Hospice and Comfort for Chemo will take place in the Meadowland­s Hotel over a weekend in November.

The table quiz will be taking place on the Friday, November 15 from 8pm onwards while the Bicycle raffle draw will take place on the night after, on Saturday November 16 at 10pm.

8. TABLE QUIZ IN AID OF WOMEN’S RESOURCE CENTRE

KERRY Women’s Resource Centre are holding a table quiz to raise funds to support their new centre.

The quiz will be held in the Kerins O’Rahillys GAA club in Tralee on the night of Friday, November 1 from 7:30 onwards; a table of four will only cost €20 per table.

9. STAG & DOE SESSIONS COMING BACK TO TRALEE

TRALEE is set for another great night of music next month when the popular ‘Stag & Doe’ sessions returns to the Fiddler Bar on Friday, November 15 at 9pm.

Bands on the night will include ‘Fallen Lights’, ‘Stolen City’ and the excellent ‘Outlion’. Tickets are set to cost €10 on the door and €8 if you buy them online from Eventbrite. This is a strictly over 18’s event.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends? There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

People can register and print off their run barcodes at parkrun. ie.
