Denis wows Toy Show audience with rendition of ‘Grace’
SOCIAL media has been awash with praise the last few days for 12-year-old Denis Moroney from Killorglin who delivered a simply beautiful rendition of the famous rebel song ‘Grace’ on this year’s ‘Late, Late Toy Show’ on Friday night.
With tears welling up in his eyes, young Denis received a huge round of applause from the studio audience while Tubridy embraced the young man afterwards and hailed the performance as “brilliant” and described Denis as “a kind human being”.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Denis’ solo performance has been viewed over 63,000 times on YouTube.
Not only was it his singing that tugged at the heartstrings, it also the fact that his parents could not be there to witness his moment in the spotlight, having had a delayed honeymoon trip to New York booked before Denis was chosen to take part in the show.
This led Tubridy to reassure the young boy that he had no doubt that his parents were watching proudly from the Big Apple while telling him that “for tonight, we’re all your mum and dad”.
Twitter has been full of praise for the youngster, with many describing his performance as “unreal”, while others described his song as the best part of their night and the highlight of their Christmas so far.
“That little boy singing ‘Grace’ in the Toy Show just broke my heart” one viewer wrote on Twitter.
“That young lad singing Grace on the #toyshow brought a tear to my eye BEFORE I found out his parents were missing the show. Lovely song #legend” said another impressed viewer.
