Celtic ease past Barna in Cup win

FAI YOUTH CUP THIRD ROUND

-

Bearna Na Forbacha (Galway) 1 Killarney Celtic 6

KILLARNEY Celtic made the long journey to Galway on Sunday and made it a worthwhile experience with a great win over Beara Na Forbacha which takes them through to the last 16 of the national competition.

Terry Sparling (2), Padraic Looney, Jason Kerins, Dylan O’Callaghan and James Darmody scored for the winners.

The Park 0 St Marys (Cork) 4

THE Park entertained Cork side St Mary’s at Christy Leahy Park on Sunday and despite turning in a battling performance they went down to the visitors but they were made fight all the way for their win against a resilient home side. The Park held their own relatively well for the opening half hour but the visitors led 1-0 at half time.

The first score of the second half would be crucial but unfortunately it was the visitors who scored again in the 50th minute and after this there was only going to be one outcome in the game.

The Park enjoyed a great run in the national competition and they have some nice young players who should go on to excel with the senior team in the year’s ahead. THE PARK: Dimitar Dimitrov, Eron Jashari, Luke Dennehy, Cian Purcell, Andrew Murphy, Nathan Holden, Liam Magee, Sean Kedzierski, Robert Kerins, Mervyn Shalemba, Dan Fisher.

DENNY YOUTHS LEAGUE Ballyhar Dynamos 0 Killorglin 5

KILLORGLIN had too much firepower for Ballyhar Dynamos and won this game in impressive style. They were 3-0 up at half time and tagged on two more second half goals without reply to win comfortably at the end. This win puts them second in the table and with games in hand they have a great chance of making the play-offs.

Gearoid Hassett claimed the match ball after a great hat trick while Jack O’Leary and Dylan Moriarty completed the scoring for the Launesiders.

Mastergeeha 3 Castleisland 4

THIS was a tight competitive game with Castleisland just coming out on top at the end. Sean O’Sullivan (2), Jason Brennan and Dylan Curtin scored for the winners. Kevin Bowler, Kevin McSweeney and Philip O’Leary scored for Mastergeeha.
