KILLARNEY LEGION

EAST KERRY DR. O’DONOGHUE CUP 2019 FINAL. Fitzgerald’s Stadium Killarney Legion V Dr. Crokes Sunday 8th December @2:15pm

Dr O’Donoghue Cup Semi Final Legion 0-15 Gneeveguilla 0-10.

Legion were made to work hard against a resilient Gneeveguilla side that took command of this game in the first half. Outscoring Legion 0-05 to 0-09. Gneeveguilla looked to be in the driving seat and things were not looking too good for Legion as they headed for the dressing room at the half-time whistle. The second half saw Legion change tactics and pressurised the Gneeveguilla kick-out. This paid dividends and within ten minutes legion were level. By the 24th minute Legion had secured a four point lead that gave them the cushion to see out the remainder of the game. Legion will be happy that they held Gneeveguilla scoreless in the second half but both players and management will know that a better performance will be required in the final. Legion will be happy to have this game behind them as they now look forward to meeting Dr. Crokes in the final. Well done to James O’Donoghue who received a well deserved man of the match award.
