Declan O’Rourke to play Siamsa Tíre
DUBLIN born singer and musician, Declan O’Rourke is on the way to Tralee where he will be performing in Tralee’s famous Siamsa Tíre theatre this Saturday night, December 7.
A wily veteran of the stage, Declan has, since 2004, recorded six solo albums and has toured extensively as both a solo-artist while also sharing the stage with such accomplished artists such as John Prine, James Taylor, Rosanne Cash, Mary Chapin-Carpenter and Paul Brady.
Widely admired in the industry, Declan’s songs have been covered by a growing list of artists including Christy Moore, Eddi Reader and Josh Groban.
A dynamic performer, he is as comfortable fronting a 50-piece orchestra, as playing solo with a guitar.
Very much at home on stage, Declan loves the immediacy of live performance. He shares his music and songs, weaving stories seamlessly around them, bringing the audience on an unforgettable journey.
Nominated for best singer, and winner of the first ever award for ‘Best Original Song’ at the inaugural ‘RTE Folk Awards’ 2018 for his latest work, O’Rourke’s versatility live performance has resulted in successful appearances in concert halls, theatres, clubs and television shows at home and abroad.
He appeared on season five of BBC’s ‘Transatlantic Sessions’ alongside Alison Krauss and Amos Lee, and two seasons of the popular music show ‘Other Voices’.
