Festive themed table designs made easy...

-

YOU should think of guests’ tables as ‘mini venues’ all of their own magical creation where the opportunity for you to inspire them is at a premium.

It’s important that guest tables look their best as this is where guests will spend the longest part of the day seated and soaking up the atmosphere of your wedding. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that your wedding day atmosphere is primarily absorbed by guests during the meal stage so it’s vital that you make that extra effort with table decorations and layout.

The good news for you is that you’ve elected to get married at Christmas and what’s the one thing we’re all allowed to go crazy with at Christmas? Yes, you’ve guessed it...decorations! A Christmas wedding should be all about sparkle, bling and recreating the sort of bright colours the time of year longs for.

A cheap but very effective way to start a table design is by gathering some bare and slender tree branches. Trim the twigs to the right height and spray them gold or silver. Once this is done stick them in a colourful base that can be covered with some fancy red, purple, or green material. To finish, why not attach little bows or Christmas decorations?

Another lovely idea is to have thinly cut circles from a pine log. You’ll need someone with a good cutting saw, however. But these pine circles make lovely coasters that can hold either drinks or candles. It’s novel, it’s seasonal and it’s easy. So take a little timeout out and make those table pieces a physical expression of your own personal philosophy. It’ll be worth the effort.
