- Padraig Harnett

THERE was action across the Senior Women’s Division with Glenbeigh Falcons winning a cracker away to St Mary’s 57-56 in Division 1. There was better news in Division 2 for St Mary’s as they defeated St Paul’s 53-36 in the Community Centre. In the same Division Kenmare Kestrels won 5445 at home to Gneeveguilla, with Caroline Taylor having a big night for the winners hitting 25 points.

In Division 3 Pool B in Mounthawk Tralee Imperials saw off St Annes 53-36. So after these games Glenbeigh Falcons top Division 1, St Bridget’s and St Mary’s are tied at the top of a very tight Division 2 with Kenmare Kestrels just two points behind. Division 3 Pool A is led by Ballybunion Wildcats with Pool B being topped by Horans Health Stores.

THERE was not a lot of action this week in the Senior Men’s Divisions but in the games that were played Tralee Imperials beat St Pauls 79-70 in Mounthawk and then St Paul’s went down away to TK Killarney Cougars 72-67.

This sees the Men’s Division 1 being led by Tralee Imperials with Caherciveen just 1 point ahead of Rathmore Ravens in Division 2 Pool A and Gneeveguilla just ahead of St Brendan’s in Pool B.

PAULS BEAT MARY’S IN BATTLE OF THE SAINTS

IN the U-18 Girls Division 1 League St Paul’s were 58-42 winners over St Mary’s to leave both sides tied at the top of the Division.

St Paul’s were ahead in the first two quarters winning both of these 14-7 and 15-11 but credit to St Mary’s they outscored their Killarney opponents by 4 points in the third. But Paul’s were just that little bit too strong and took the final quarter 20-11.

For St Pauls Ava Doherty and Jade Potts led the scoring on 12 points each followed by Ava Sheehan and Julie Delaney who both scored 10 points while Katie Brosnan had 9.

Emma O’Regan lead the St Mary’s scoring with 12 while Paris McCarthy hit 10 and both Graine Walsh and Gemma Kearney getting 5 each.

The other game in this Division saw Tralee Imperials defeat TK Vivens 78-45 and they are now in 4th on 10 points just one behind Gneeveguilla and three behind the top two but with a game in hand over all three.

BUSY WEEK FOR ST COLEMAN’S

ST Colman’s Milltown were in action in the U-12 Girls Division 3 Plate and the Boys U-16 Division 3 League.

The game in the U-12 Division 3 Plate was a very exciting affair with the Milltown side just getting the better of St Paul’s 21-20. It was a strong third quarter from the home side that set them up for the win with Rachel Boyle leading their scoring with 7 points. For St Paul’s Molly Reidy ended with 6. St Colman’s Rockets will now meet Tralee Imperials in the quarter-finals. The winners of this game will face either Rathmore Ravens or Glenbeigh Falcons in the semi-finals.

The St Coleman’s U-16 boys were also involved in a very tight encounter in Division 3 but sadly for them they went down 49-47 to Glenbeigh Falcons. The sides were tied at 24 each at the break. For St Colman’s Cathal O’Donoghue had 16 and Oisin Spring 13 while Falcons Noah Falvey had a game high 18 and Sean Scannell hit 11. The win moves Falcons up to third just one point ahead of St Coleman’s.
