1. KILLARNEY ON ICE RETURNS THIS FRIDAY

THE hugely popular ‘Killarney On Ice’ returns to town this Friday November 29 and is here to stay until January 5.

This hugely popular attraction will be open on selected dates and is centrally located in the town at Beech Road car park. It is energetic, great fun and is suitable for all ages.

2. CHRISTMAS CRAIC IN CASTLEGREG­ORY

A CANDLELIGH­T parade with live crib will take place from the playground village in Castlegreg­ory on December 20 at 6pm followed by carol singing at the crib and rocking around the village Christmas tree.

Suitable for all ages, come and join ion on the festive cheer, meet friends old and new, bring the children and let them enjoy a kiddie disco in the Club Rooms afterwards.

All donations are gratefully accepted and will go towards the village enhancemen­t fund.

3. ANNUAL STEPHENS DAY WALK IN DUAGH

THE annual Stephens Day walk in Duagh getting closer with this years walk set to be in aid of the Crumlin’s Childrens Hospital.

Sponsorshi­p cards for this walk are available from local businesses or from committee members.

4. CHRISTMAS CONCERT IN KILLORGLIN

A CHRISTMAS Celebratio­n Comber Vocal Ensemble will take place in St. James Church, Killorglin on Thursday December 19 at 8pm.

Eight singers including Conar Prendivill­e will present a diverse programme of Christmas carols and sacred music. Daniel Beuster will be the guest Musical Director on the night.

Killorglin is the first in a Christmas concert series that will see Comhar perform in Limerick, Dublin, and Galway There will be a retiring collection

5. FESTIVE FUN QUIZ IN BARRADUFF THIS MONTH

THE Barraduff Festive Fun Quiz will be taking place on Friday, December 27 in John Dan’s Bar in Barraduff, so be sure to mark your calendars for this date.

There will be prizes on the night for best Christmas jumper/attire along with plenty of fantastic spot prizes tobe won as well.

No booking on the night is required so everyone is encouraged to come along and support the fantastic Baraduff Tidy Village group.

6. KILFLYNN FUNDRAISIN­G TABLE QUIZ

THE Kilflynn Cancer Support Group will hold their annual fundraisin­g table quiz on Saturday night, December 28 in two different locations, Parker’s Pub and Herbert’s Bar at 9pm.

Conor and Daragh Breen will be providing entertainm­ent along with help with the questions; this quiz has been running since 2004 and is a hugely popular event evert year.

This year’s quiz will raise funds for Recovery Haven, the Kerry Hospice Foundation and Kerry Cancer Support.

7. CHRISTMAS TEA PARTY FOR THE IRISH RED CROSS

THE Irish Red Cross will hold a Christmas Tea Party in the Grand Hotel this coming Sunday December 22 from 2pm to 6pm.

Tickets for the event will cost just €5.

8. SVP TO HOLD FREE CHRISTMAS DAY DINNER

ST Vincent De Paul will host a special Christmas Day dinner from 2pm to 4pm in St John’s Parish Centre on Castle Street.

This will be a completely free event which is open to everyone; all donations of non perishable food are still being accepted while volunteers to help out with the distributi­on of dinners would be greatly appreciate­d.

9. NEW YEARS 10K & 5K FUN RUNS IN BEAUFORT

THE Charles O’Shea Memorial 10k road race will take place in Beaufort on January 1 at 12 noon.

There will also be a 5k fun run which will start at the same time. This year, all entrants in the 10k and 5k runs will receive a special edition re-usable coffee cup.

Registrati­on for this run will take place in the Community Hall. This year, all profits will be going towards the Community Hall renovation fund.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends? There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

People can register and print off their run barcodes at parkrun. ie.
