TEAMS - On Saturday our Youths travelled to Killorglin where we were defeated by the Launesiders. Killorglin were too strong for us in a game in which Stephen Palmer scored our first half goal in a 1-8 defeat.
Squad: C Ring, J Power, J O’Leary, M Brosnan, J McCarthy, S Palmer, C Palmer, D Deniel, N Callaghan , C Cronin and B Burke.
Our senior team hosted Castleisland B on Sunday last. Played in ideal conditions on a dry sod in front of a nice crowd we were defeated on a 1-2 scoreline. We trailed 0-1 at halftime through a harsh penalty call but recovered early in the second half to miss our own penalty. Mike Daly equalised the game with a goal from a well worked move on 60 minutes and when it appeared we were getting on top the visitors struck for a late winner from a set piece. That is sport for you. On the day we as we were short a few regulars we gave game time to three youths who acquitted themselves very well.
Squad: T O’Shea, M O’Donoghue, J Daly, G Fitzgerald, P O’Connor, E Cosgrave, K O’Sullivan, P O’Connor, M Daly, S O’Sullivan, C Ring, R Syc, C O’sullivan, M Brosnan and A McKenna.
Condolences - The Club offers its sympathises to the Kelliher family, Leamaguilla, the O Donoghue family, Droumduhig and the O’Connor family, Firies Village on their recent bereavements.
