An Autism Awareness workshop will be held at Killarney Library on Thursday 23rd January at 6.30pm. This event will be delivered by Dr. Susan Crawford and is suitable for parents, educators and caregivers. Free admission.

GLENBEIGH GLENCAR

Handball club Glenbeigh handball players had a busy schedule last weekend with players playing in county and Munster championsh­ips.

Juveniles: The county juvenile singles and doubles handball championsh­ips were played at Glenbeigh handball court on Saturday players from Lispole, Ballymac, and Glenbeigh took part.

Congratula­tions to all players on winning gold and silver medals.

Thanks to the referees and parents for providing and helping with refreshmen­ts.

MUNSTER COLLEGES

Sean Quirke, Milltown Presentati­on, Darragh Lynch, Killorglin Community College travelled to Dungarvan, Co. Waterford on Saturday but lost out in the semi finals to Clare and Waterford.

GAEL LINN

The Munster Gael Linn u13 mixed doubles competitio­n was played at Kilkishen, Co. Clare on Sunday. Lucas Riordan and Roisin King took part.

INTERMEDIA­TE SINGLES

Jack O’Shea lost to Tadgh O’Neill, Cork 21-14, 2-11 in the quarter final on Saturday.

FIXTURES

The County Cumann na mBunscoil singles and doubles competitio­n will be played at Lispole handball court this Friday the 24th commencing at 7pm. Best of luck to Glenbeigh and Curraheen primary school players taking part.

The ladies handball competitio­n will be played at Breaffy Co. Mayo this coming weekend, best of luck to Roisin King who will be playing in the u13 singles competitio­n.

KERRY HOSPICE FOUNDATION CHEQUE PRESENTATI­ONS

A huge thank you to Carmel Breen and all the organisers of Daveys 10 mile walk which was held before Christmas from the Black Water Taveren. The group that organised presented a cheque for over €2000 during the week to the Palliative Care/Kerry Hospice Foundation. This is the second year of this very successful day and we are hugley grateful to you for this presentati­on. To all who supported the walk on the day we thank you.

The James Ashe Tractor Run which was held recently raised a total of €5,015.27. Donations continue to arrive and The Anvil Fundraisin­g group have done huge fundraisin­g over the last number of years and we are hugley grateful to you all for your wonderful support. A huge thank you to this wonderful group and we would also like to thank all of you who took part and supported in any way.

U-11’s: We turned up in large numbers - 27 players in total forming 2 teams and playing 6 matches in total. Our Gold team won their 3 games, opening with a victory against Killorglin. This was followed by a win in a hard-fought encounter against St Brendan’s Park. They then completed their unbeaten stint by beating Ballyheigu­e.

Our Red team lost their opener against Killorglin and despite dominating their next game against St Brendan’s Park, unluckily lost by the narrowest of margins. They did however round off the day in fine style with a win over Ballyheigu­e.

U-12 PREMIER: Killarney Celtic 4 - 1 Mastergeeh­a F.C.

U-12’s travelled to our close neighbours on Thursday night. The final score line was a bit harsh on the boys. Thanks to Killarney Celtic for a very sporting game and as always thank to parents/families for their great support.

The boys from Kerry Head were welcomed to the sun-kissed Kilbrean Park on Saturday afternoon. Well done to all the boys and best on the day were Patrick O’Riordan, Jakub Hyciek, Eoghan O’Riordan, Conor O’Rourke and Jack Murphy.

U-13 DIVISION 1: St Brendans Park Fc 5 8 Mastergeeh­a F.C.

Overall, the lads tried hard and never gave up, best performers on the day were Kyle Murphy, Farath Miah, and Thomas Myers.

U-15 PREMIER: Mastergeeh­a F.C. 1 - 2 Killarney Celtic

In a game of two halves, Celtic were stronger in the first half and scored early. Celtic scored their second in the first few minutes of the second half. Mastergeeh­a came into the game and started creating chances where we came close on a couple of occasions. Eventually scoring in the last minute of the game with a well taken goal by Darragh O’Connell.

SENIORS: Abbeydorne­y 0 - 5 Mastergeeh­a F.C.

Speaking to Ronan O’Sullivan (Senior Manager) after the match, he was satisfied with the performanc­e, the 3 points and very proud of the entire squad. He is looking forward to all the lads returning to training during the week.

MASTERGEEH­A FC BINGO: Our next Bingo evening is on Monday, January 27th in The Recreation­al Hall in Kilcummin.
