KERRY HOSPICE
The proceeds from the sale of Christmas Cards in the parish this year amounted to €1106. The local committee would like to extend thanks to all who purchased and sold cards. The ongoing support of the people of Rathmore parish to the work of Kerry Hospice is greatly appreciated. The rewards for your generosity has been experienced by a growing number of local families who have availed of the Kerry Hospice funded Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry and the exceptional care delivered there to people with life limiting illnesses. Should anyone wish to make a contribution to Kerry Hospice or organise a fundraiser you can contact any member of the local committee. Wishing all Hospice supporters a Healthy and Happy New Year.

AGEING WELL
Kerry GAA Health and Wellbeing Committee , TILDA and Irish Life are combining to stage a “How to age well” seminar in The Rose Hotel Tralee on Monday February 10th from 7pm to 9pm. This is a free event and the main lecture will be delivered by Professor Rose Anne Kenny.
TEA DANCE
Sliabh Luachra Active Retired Network are holding a Tea Dance on Sunday next January 26th in The River Island Hotel ,Castleisland. Lunch will be at 1pm sharp followed by an afternoon of dancing until 4.30pm. Tickets available from the usual sources.
LADIES FOOTBALL AGM
Just a reminder again, Scartaglen Ladies Football Club AGM will take place in The Clubhouse on this Wednesday night January 22nd at 7.30pm. All involved in the club are requested to attend this very important meeting, new members will be most welcome.
AWARD RECIPIENT
Congrats to PJ Teahan on being presented with The Dan O Connell Memorial Award for his outstanding contribution in promoting Sliabh Luachra music and musicians for a good number of years. PJ who is a founding member of the hugely popular “Handed Down” series held in Scartaglen Heritage Centre for the past 6 years. PJ received his award at the first Handed Down programme of 2020 held in The Heritage Centre, Scartaglen on Saturday night last when Aidan Connolly made a presentation about “The Cronin Brothers from Reaboy”. Well done again PJ and keep up the good work.
THE GATHERING
The annual traditional festival “The Gathering” will take place in The Gleneagle Hotel Killarney from Wednesday February 26 to Sunday March 1st (both dates inclusive).
