CHRISTY KISSANE CUP: Laune Rangers travelled to London this past weekend to face Kingdom Kerry Gaels in the Christy Kissane Memorial Cup. Laune Rangers came out on top to regain the Christy Kissane Cup they won last in 2017. Kingdom Kerry Gaels 3-08, Laune Rangers 7-08.

SENIOR: The 2020 season got underway on Sunday with Round 1 of the Mid Kerry Senior League versus Glenbeigh/Glencar in Cloon. Both sides were starting the season with new management in place, as the Rangers managers John Sheehan and James Sheehan came up against John Evans on the Glenbeigh sideline. With 14 members of the Laune Rangers squad gone to London to play the Christy Kissane Cup and another half dozen looking on from the sideline with injuries, Rangers had a new look to their team on the day. Senior debuts were given out to starters Eoin O’Sullivan and Ronan O’Shea and – after the former’s day was cut short with a 1st minute injury – Stephen Sealy was called upon for his debut also. Laune Rangers came out on top on the day with goals proving key. Final Score:- Laune Rangers 4-9, Glenbeigh/ Glencar 1-13. UNDER 21 FIXTURE: The Mid Kerry Under 21 Championsh­ip gets underway next weekend with a trip to Beaufort in the preliminar­y round. The game takes place on Saturday next, at 2pm. SENIOR FIXTURE: Round 2 of the Mid Kerry Senior League takes place on Sunday with a home game against Beaufort in Cloon at 2pm. G4MA: The first meeting of our Gaelic 4 Mothers and Others takes place on Wednesday, January 29th at 8:30pm in our club rooms in JP O’Sullivan Park- no boots required, just a get together for any interested ladies looking to get involved! KERRY: Well Done to the Kerry Senior Ladies who picked up a great away win in Cavan to get their season off to a great start. Congratula­tions especially to our own Ciara O’Brien who lined out at corner back. Well Done also to Kerry Under 20s on their win against Galway, with David Mangan an unused substitute on the day. GET INVOLVED: Planning starts immediatel­y for 2020. If any member is interested in getting involved in the club, the door is always open for new volunteers in all aspects of the Club – coaching, fundraisin­g, helping out on big match days in selling Club Lotto or operating the Scoreboard!
