BEAUFORT FILM NIGHT

Beaufort Film Night will hold a screening on Friday 7th February at 8.30pm at the Inn Between Bar, Beaufort. The feature film to be screened is Woman at War, an Icelandic comedy-drama. Cert 12A. Admission €7.

KERRY BRANCH OF THE SAMARITANS

The Kerry Branch of the Samaritans together with the local organisers wish to sincerely thank all who contribute­d so generously to their Christmas Church Gate Collection, The amount raised in Glenbeigh was €958.70. The Samaritans are entirely dependent on the Christmas Collection to continue the service to those who need help. Again many, many thanks.

HANDBALL CLUB

The County Cumann na mBunscoil handball championsh­ips were played at Lispole handball club on Friday night last, players from Lispole primary schools took part. Congratula­tions to Glenbeigh and Curraheen primary schools players on winning gold and silver medals with winner’s to represent Kerry in the Munster competitio­n.

U11 singles winner Clodagh Quirke, runner up Dawn Griffin.

U11 doubles winner’s Aidan Sheehan and Dara O’Connor.

U13 girl’s singles Maggie Quirke will play Roisin King in the final.

U13 singles winner Lucas Riordan, u13 doubles runner up Cathal Griffin and Liam O’Connor.

Munster championsh­ips: Minor singles quarter final Sean Quirke beat Gearoid Healy, Cork 21-18. 21-14 played at Glenbeigh on Friday last.

Fixtures - Sean Quirke will play Rory Grace, Tipperary or Sean Coughlan, Clare in the Munster minor singles semi final in Broadford, Co. Limerick.

Silver Master B singles semi final Brian McEvoy will play Aidan Moroney Clare on Monday at 7.30pm in Broadford. Co. Limerick.

Juveniles- Darragh Lynch will travel to Dungarvan, Co. Waterford on Sunday 2nd February to play in the Munster u16 singles quarter final.

The u12 and u13 players will play in the Munster championsh­ip at a later date.
