COUNCILLORS WELCOME TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES AT LANGFORD ST.

Cllr John Francis Flynn welcomes the €60,000 for raised speed tables for Langford Street Killiorglin. We have campaigned over the past number of years for safety measures in this area. With Scamps & Scholars, Killorglin CommunityCollege, Fexco,O’Sullivan’s Bakery, The Tyre Centre and a number of housing estates, this is very important for safety. I was delighted to have allocated €3000 last year also for lights in this vicinity

Councillor Michael Cahill has also welcomed the grant of €60,000 for traffic calming measures which will include a ‘Raised Table’ at Langford Street, Killorglin, in the vicinity of Scamps and Scholars childcare facility. The Fianna Fail Councillor had vigorously campaigned for the works to be prioritised and had called on the Department of Transport to provide the necessary funding. "I am delighted with today’s announcement as I have consistently lobbied for these works to be carried out over the past couple of years and the safety of our children is of paramount importance stated Councillor Cahill. Following a number of Notice of Motions from the Rossbeigh Councillor, Kerry County Council made a submission to the Department of Transport.
