Park’s U-16 National Cup run ended by Ringmahon Rangers

IT was another rain and storm interrupte­d weekend with a raft of fixtures cancelled. However, a number did go ahead with the U-16 National Cup last 16 clash of St Brendan’s Park and Ringmahon Rangers the highlight of the club games taking place in the KDL.

Despite Cianan Cooney putting the Park ahead early on the Cork side equalised from the penalty spot. With the Park down to 10 men it was Ringmahon that got the winner to end the great run by the Park. They can now look forward to a Regional semi-final where they and Killorglin are keeping the Kerry flag flying.

Fenit go joint top of U-12 Division 1 with game in hand

FENIT’S 4-1 win over Ballyhar Dynamos in mid-week has seen them move to the top of the JK Sports U-12 Division 1. Goals from Conor McGibney, Michael O’Sullivan, Mikey Corridan and Robert O’Shea sees Fenit on 13 points level with Inter Kemare but having a game less paid.

Athletic open gap at the top of U-13 Premier

KILLARNEY Athletic will be happy that they were able to beat the weather as their win over the Park sees the open a seven-point gap at the top of the World of Tiles U-13

Premier. There goals in the game in Woodlawn came from Luke Doolin and Brian O’Shea who both hit hat-tricks. However they do have a game more played than LB Rovers in second. In the same Division Listowel Celtic were 2-0 winners over Fenit in mid-week.

Camp Juniors progress in U-13 Shield

ONLY one first round game in the John Joe Naughton U-13 Shield survived the weather. Camp Juniors had goals from Mikey O’Leary (2), Suvi O’Connor and Michael Enright as they beat Mastergeeh­a B to progress to the quarter finals. Ryan O’Sullivan got both goals for the Kilbrean side with their goalkeeper Kyle Murphy saving a penalty.

Big win for Killorglin in U-14 Division 2

KILLORGLIN’S 2-0 win over Ballyhar Dynamos with both goals coming from Kuba Ciesle sees then take a grip on the Slattery’s Carpets Division 2 title. They sit on 19 points from 8 games and are four points ahead of LB Rovers and still have two games in hand.

Park in third in U-15 Premier

A 4-0 win by the Park over Mastergeeh­a in the Daly’s Supervalu U-15 Premier sees them consolidat­e their third place in the Division.
