Killorglin move to within four points of Premier B leaders Camp

Killorglin 7 QPR 2

KILLORGLIN took full advantage of league leaders Camp United’s defeat with a comfortable win over bottom of the table QPR lifting them up to second place in the table four points behind the West Kerry side.

The first half was even enough with the home side creating chances but unable to convert but in the 35th minute Killorglin took the lead with a superb finish by Lee Carey.

It was 1-0 at half time but 5 minutes of madness just after the break with a QPR own goal and with Liam Carey and Stephen Sealy on target left the home side were 4-0 to the good.

QPR did pull a goal back in the 53rd minute through Dan O’Sullivan but with further goals from Liam Carey and Dylan O’Sullivan there was going to be no comeback by the away side.

QPR’s Paul Cooney did get on the scoresheet to double their tally but with time up Mike Carey put the seal on a very good night for the home side with their seventh goal of the game.

So now Killorglin are up to second in the table but with 4 or 5 teams still in the mix Gerry Kelliher and his squad know there’s still a lot of work to do to make it to the league decider but it was a great result on the night for the home side.

Camp United 2 Killarney Celtic ‘B’ 4

LEAGUE leaders Camp United slumped to their second successive defeat going down to Killarney Celtic B at the KDL on Friday night. Danny Roche and Darragh Lowth both scored a brace of goals for the winners. Jason Hickson and Shane Foley scored for Camp United.
